1980s Toys For Boys - TransformersTransformers were one of the coolest and best-selling toys of the 1980s. Known as "robots in disguise", Transformers were robot action figures that could transform into cars, trucks, airplanes and various other vehicles. The first generation of Transformers arrived in 1984 and included such classics as Optimus Prime and Megatron. Those original Transformers from the 1980s have gone on to inspire several other versions over the past 20 years, as well as dozens of cartoon shows, video games and a live action movie which will arrive in 2007.
1980s Toys For Boys - Teenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesIt was tough to go anywhere in the 1980s without running into some kind of toy featuring Raphael, Michaelangelo, Leonardo, or Donatello - the four crime-fighters better known collectively as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The four reptilian heroes first appeared in a comic book in 1983 but spawned dozens of cool action figures, playsets and a cartoon show. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have since undergone a makeover and a series of toys, video games and cartoons featuring the quartet were re-issued in 2003.

Joe was actually first created as a cartoon character in 1942, the action figures featuring America's most popular soldier were one of most popular toys for boys during the 1980s. The G.I. Joe collection included more than 500 action figures and over 250 playsets.
1980s Toys For Boys - Masters of the UniverseThe Masters of the Universe were a series of mini-comics, action figures and playsets that featured a wandering barbarian, known as He-Man, who tried to save civilization from an evil dude, known as Skeletor. The Masters of the Universe had some of the sweetest action figures and playsets of the 1980s. The product line was brought back to life in 2002 with both new toys and a cartoon show.
