The new Magic: The Gathering card game expansion set, Guildpact, brought three new guilds packed full of deadly cards, huge creatures, strange powers and wicked combos to the game. The Gruul are all about monsters, the Izzet blast their opponents with strange spells, and the Orzhov leech the life points from their enemies. We review all three new heme decks right here!

Magic: Guildpact: Code of the Orzhov Deck Review

This Black and White Orzhov deck is a weird one. It's all about blocking your opponent's creatures, making them discard cards, and slowly draining their life away with spells and enchantments. It's a tricky deck to use properly, but a skilled player can have a lot of fun with it.

Lots of ways to gain life.

The deck box holds cards properly.

No big creatures.

Poisonbelly Ogre = useless!

Unless you're a good player, it's too weird to duel with.

Magic: Guildpact: Gruul Wilding Deck Review

Got Red and Green? This Gruul deck does! It also has strong creatures, and creature enchantments to power them up. This deck is 'da bomb when it comes to a creature-smackdown, just can't do anything else. The Gruul Wilding is definitely the best Theme Deck for new players to start with.

Borborygmos! This huge monster is awesome.

Magic: Guildpact: Izzet Gizmometry Deck Review

This deck mixes Red and Blue to give you a dozen new ways to blow your opponent apart with wicked spells! There are also cards to counter your opponent's spells and draw more cards so you'll always have more spells to cast. Unfortunately, the deck only has nine creatures and they aren't very powerful, so it can get stomped flat pretty easily.

The deck box actually holds cards properly.

Barely any creatures!

Requires some skill to use properly.
