Courtesy of Harper CollinsAuthor: Michelle Paver
Spirit Walker is the second book about the young Wolf Clan hunter Torak. He lives in a world that's 6,000 years before the invention of the Xbox 360 and is full of spirits, strange magic, prophecies and ancient mysteries. All he wants is to grow up and be a hunter like his father was, when suddenly a mysterious sickness starts driving the clans mad and killing people! Here's the story about Torak's new adventures.
Spirit Walker - Ancient Adventure
Torak's adventure begins with him living with the
Raven Clan. He learns from their wise chief,
Fin-Kedinn, hunts with the young girl
Renn and has a
wolf as a pack-brother. Suddenly a
horrible sickness starts killing his Raven Clan
friends and spreading to the other clans! Torak must set out on his own and journey from the
deepest forest to the depths of the
ocean to find a cure and battle the
Soul-Eaters who want him dead - or do they? Tarok uncovers secrets, betrayal and true
friendship in his adventures.
Spirit Walker - Friendly Spirits
Tarok has an
amazing adventure in this book. It'll grab you keep you flipping pages as you read about his journeys, the
clans he meets, how he discovers the source of the sickness and more about himself and his
strange powers. The incredible detail about life in the
forest and how Tarok and the other people
respect the world they live in is amazing too - it's so different from how we live!
Spirit Walker - Bottom Line
Don't read this book while you're
camping! Some parts of it are
totally freaky and can leave you really nervous about the things that go
bump in the night. Unless you dig getting creeped out, read this book in the daytime!
Michelle Paver's first Chronicles of Ancient Darkness novel,
Wolf Brother, was excellent and
Spirit Walker is an
incredible read too! It's a bit scary for younger readers, but the freak-out level is perfect for most peeps. If you like
adventure stories, definitely check this book out.
