The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! originally aired in 1989 four days a week. You can now own all 24 original episodes on DVD. Get the review right here!

Long before the Xbox and GBA SP, there was a pair of video game heroes hailing from Brooklyn. Mario and Luigi were brothers who ran a plumbing business, until the day they were sucked down a drain and transported into the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario and Luigi had several video games made in their honor, which eventually led to the 1989 cartoon, The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! Get the goods on this '80s throwback, right here!

Super Mario Bros. - Main Characters

  • Mario Mario - Mario is a kind-hearted, Italian plumber who loves pasta and can always be counted on to come to the rescue of those in need.
  • Luigi Mario - Luigi is Mario's younger brother. He is taller and slimmer than Mario and a little more panicky than his hero bro. Despite his nervousness, Luigi is always by Mario's side when someone needs saving.
  • Princess Peach Toadstool - Princess Peach is the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom and is constantly getting herself into sticky situations - usually being kidnapped by the evil King Bowser Koopa. Lucky for her, her crush Mario is always waiting around the next corner to save her!
  • King Bowser Koopa - King Koopa's main objective is to kidnap Princess Peach and take over the Mushroom Kingdom. In every episode, Mario and Luigi manage to foil his plans, but Koopa always manages to escape and continues to plague the Mushroom Kingdom.
  • Toad - Toad is part mushroom, part human and he lives in the Mushroom Kingdom. Occasionally he needs to be saved by Mario and Luigi, but for the most part, Toad lends a hand to fight evil whenever he can.

If I had to make simple choice, I'd prefer to live in It's Kind of a Funny Story simply for the people who were held in it. Despite the location setting for the story, I feel as if I could very easily fall for the characters all over again, especially in an even more personal matter. But, of course, if I was  going with a straight up fantasy like everyone seems to be, I'd most likely go with a world like Dorthy Must Die series or Alice in Wonderland. Both being these magical worlds filled with quirky creatures and people, so how could you get bored? Oh, and of course let us not forget the plenty of harrowing fight scenes for freedom from the evil queens and her many brainless followers.

I would live in The Outsiders because it's a classic book. I would love to go on adventures with the gang and read books and watch movies with Ponyboy. (Because I too always believed I was the only one who enjoyed them.) I would love to open up to Johnny because he is such a kind hearted soul.
