Gold is the hot and heavy metal this year. Gold chain necklaces, which have replaced last season's wooden beads, will give a bold edge to your glamorous prom dress. Grab a pair of filigree earrings, which is a type of jewelry design using twisted threads, and then flip your hair back with a braided, velvet or satin hairband.
Prom Accessories - Purses
Oversized purses are a top trend, but you can't exactly lug a big bag to the prom, so stick to clutches and wristlets in bright colors, shades of gold and funky patterns. They're just big enough to fit your cell phone, a few bills and some make-up for quick touch-ups.

Don't teeter around on four inch heels unless you want to be nursing your aching feet instead of dancing on them! Wedges are great for girls who don't normally wear heels cuz they give you the height without the discomfort. Another hot shoe is the peep-toe sandal - they're retro chic, so your mom may even have a pretty pair hiding in the back of the closet. If you're not a fan of heels, then try an open-toe flat on for size, but remember to get a pedicure cuz your toes will be peeping out of these shoes.
