Book Review - Replica 15: Transformation

Author: Marilyn Kaye

Genetically engineered Amy is back again. In the last installment she traveled to Washington, the city where she was created, and learned about her past. This time she's back in school and trying to figure out the latest fads - Cocodoodles, shoelace collections and Cherry Lane. No government conspiracies this time, no way. Just everyday school fun with her friends.

Or so she hoped. Before she can say 'I'm a superhuman clone' her friends start flaking out. Her best friend Tasha goes from chatty to zombie, her whole school starts acting totally weird and nobody's doing anything about it. It's up to Amy to find out what's going on, complete her shoelace collection, figure out her new VCR and save her friends from the strange zombie-like behavior.

Transformation is Amy's chance to be a Spy Kid. There's action, adventure, mystery and hall monitors aplenty. Can she save her school? What is the new PC program? And how will the Cherry Lane movie turn out? Amy has her hands full this time.

Check out Transformation for a good read. It's got a story with good action and it shows you a lot of stuff about fads, how long they last and how silly they can be.

How many fads do you think are just plain silly? Tell us.
