We review the incredible LEGO Mindstorms NXT robot building kit!

LEGO's Mindstorms NXT robot kit is here! It's packed with over 500 pieces including robotic eyes and ears, servo motors to get it moving, a speaker so it can talk, a touch sensor and an awesome intelligent brick that controls it all. You can get a move on conquering the world (or at least your back yard) with a LEGO robot army with a fistful of rechargeable batteries and the Quick Start Kit. Then it's time to grab your dad, build some of the bigger LEGO robots and start programming them. It's a bit tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, wow. Seriously, WOW. All in capitals and everything.

You can do incredible stuff with the LEGO Mindstorms NXT. From controlling it through your cell phone to programming it to move around (stick to wheels, robot legs don't work very well!) and talk to people - or even to have it pass commands to other Mindstorms robots. If you're really hardcore, you can head to www.mindstorms.com and download more files to let you do some really freaky stuff - but you need advanced programming skills for that.

LEGO Mindstorms NXT Thumbs Up:

  • The Quick Start Kit gets you rolling right away.
  • The programming is easy to learn.
  • Once youre good with the programming, you can do really complicated stuff!
  • Super-simple programming mode = 15 seconds to make a program.
  • LEGO Mindstorms NXT Thumbs Down:

  • It costs $250 start being nice to your grandparents now!
  • Takes six AA batteries, which are not included.
  • You can't print the instructions for the bigger robots.

Banned for driving me to end the silence and driving me to say:*Coconuts are a nice fruit and it's as delicious as people think it is. In other words I don't mind if you have your own opinion. I don't mind at all. So even if you have a negative opinion on long paragraphs, I will respect that and let you know that you never need to read all of this. It's just here as part of my ban to Abbergrl. It doesn't matter if you read this because she is still banned. I have nothing against her, Abbergrl is queen. You slay grl. No pun intended. Actually it was definitely intended. Would I lie to you? Na! I should be doing something important but instead I'm doing this. All in the name of queen Abbergrl of the KW kingdom. I shall now bow down to her even though I'm banning her. What is up with me? And what is up with you? Why are you still reading this? Who knew people were so attentive? I wish I was like that TBH; how I envy you. Gah, I'd give anything. Except my family, friends, and electronics. I'd make a shout out to all of them but they won't be reading this and neither is anyone else. If you're still reading this, wow. I apologise if some of my questioning is overdone. Sometimes I'm repetitive. Sometimes I'm repetitive. Sometimes I'm repetitive. Sometimes I'm repetitive. Maybe you lost your place in this paragraph, who knows? Maybe you lost your place in this paragraph, who knows? I love a good mystery. Ever read any mysteries and realised that the evilest looking people are never guilty? Never judge a book by its cover. Known fact: I have never screamed or cried at any movies. Known fact 2: I have written longer nonsensical paragraphs. Yeah I don't like to bore people, even though I just did, so I'll end it here. I warned you there was no point to this. Grey squirrels eat bagels but purple squirrels like knitting, why are circles round? Tulips, because 64 is not an ice cream. Oh, and coconuts for life.*
