Arthur and the Forbidden City - Royal Love

When we last left Arthur at the end of Arthur and the Minimoys, he was five inches tall and was trying to find his long-lost grandfather in the vast underground world of the Minimoys. In the sequel to that first book, Arthur continues his quest while falling in love with the brave Princess Selenia - the fearless heiress to the Minimoyan thrown. While Arthur navigates his way through the magical kisses of Selenia, he must also help her save the Minimoys from destruction at the hands of the evil Maltazard the Cursed.

As Arthur's heart is going crazy for a somewhat prissy princess, his distraught parents are busy digging up the back garden, looking for their 10 year-old son. How could he possibly have just disappeared from the backyard? Will Arthur's parents ever see their son again? Will Arthur be able to save the Minimoys from being drowned by the demented Maltazard? Will he ever find his long-lost grandfather and the hidden treasure, which will save his grandma's house from being seized by a dodgy landlord? The answer to all these questions lies in the dark corners of Necropolis, the Forbidden City.

Arthur and the Forbidden City - Bottom Line

Arthur and the Forbidden City is an exciting adventure through a cool underground world filled with evil rulers, sweet princesses and hidden rubies. It's a faster read than Arthur and the Minimoys and there's bit more action as Arthur is forced to prove himself as a worthy husband to Selenia and a brave warrior who will fight to the death for the Minimoys. If you haven't read the first book in the series, you may find yourself a little bit lost in places - so definitely give Arthur and the Minimoys a read first. An animated movie based on Arthur and the Minimoys, featuring Madonna and Snoop Dogg, is also coming out in January 2007, so stay tuned for plenty of Minimoyan mayhem in the near future.
