White had a pretty good year in 2001. Shaun White finished ninth in the Super Half Pipe at the Winter X-Games in Vermont and placed second at the Vans Triple Crown of Snowboarding. Not only does Shaun White get to travel and board all year - best of all he gets to skip school to do it. Instead he does homework on the road for much of the year. When he's not boarding, Shaun White might be playing Cool Boarders 4 with his friends on his Playstation. Shaun is actually one of the riders featured in the game and he had a hand in designing it. If Shaun White's job has you a little jealous - here's what to do. Pick up Cool Boarders 4 and slam cyber-Shaun White into the side of the half pipe. The real Shaun won't feel it. But it might make you feel better after you've been shoveling snow or cutting the grass for your Dad for five bucks an hour.
Shaun White does a lot more than just snowboard. He's also pretty good on a skateboard and is regularly trying out new tricks at skatebowls around his hometown of San Diego. Shaun White says he likes both sports just as much and doesn't want to give either one up. His next big goal is to make the US snowboarding team for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.
