Previous vampire slayers might have preferred to go it alone but Buffy surrounds herself with a tight demon-fighting crew, affectionately known as the Scooby Gang. Her best friends, Willow and Xander, used to date when they were five years old (but broke up over a stolen Barbie), but have now turned their attention to keeping Buffy out of trouble (or, at least, joining her when she gets into trouble).

Alexander "Lex" Luthor - Smallville

Long before he was his arch nemesis, Lex Luthor was actually Clark Kent's best friend. Haven't most of us had friendships like that? Lex is the son of a billionaire businessman who loves money more than he does his own son. Maybe that's why Lex descends into evil throughout the Smallville series.

Also known as Lola Lufnagle, Lilly is Miley Stewart's BFF and confidant. This skatboarding, boy-crazy chica may be quick-tempered but she's always got her best friend's back - both when she is a rock star and just a regular girl. We could all use a friend like this fun-loving girl.

Screech Powers - Saved by the Bell

This awkward, nerdy kid has been tagging along with Zack Morris since he was just a tyke. He's loyal, eccentric and a little delusional (he thinks he's quite a ladie's man). Screech may have been a nerd but he was totally comfortable with his geekiness and always up for a laugh - even if it was at his expense.
