It's very dangerous but cool. Some ppl think that it's not dangerous, but I don't think so..well, anyway It doesn't stop ppl.
Ice climbing can absolutely be done by kids! As long as its done in a safe setting with people that know what they are doing. My daughter is only one, but my husband and I are already figuring out what gear we need to take her in a few years. San Juan Mountain guides starts kids at 8 in their kids climbing college. I have seen 5 year olds ice climb and do a great job. Sure, you can't be a couch potato and just go out there and do it, but it is fun and great for kids of all ages.
