Top 10 Best Movie Sequels

It's generally accepted that movie sequels are never as good as the original, but that's not always the case. We're taking a look at some of the coolest sequels around - many of which are even better than the original. Check 'em out and see if you agree.

#10. Best Movie Sequels - Wayne's World 2

Wayne and Garth come back to the big screen to organize a rock festival with a little help from the spirit of Jim Morrison. This sequel packs in just as many laughs as the original and features cameos by Drew Barrymore, Jay Leno, Heather Locklear and Aerosmith. Party on!

#9. Best Movie Sequels - Ghostbusters II

While it's hard to beat the original Ghostbusters, this flick comes a close second. After being hailed as heroes in the first movie, the Ghostbusters are now banned from their paranormal activities. But soon the city is thrown into chaos and the Ghostbusters are called back to duty to save humanity yet again. Besides all that, we think that any movie with Bill Murray in it deserves a spot on the list!

#8. Best Movie Sequels - Spider-Man 2

This Academy-Award winning super-sequel put its predecessor to shame! This flick charts Peter Parker's struggle to balance his super-life and his everyday life, and the birth of Doc Ock. But that's not all! Peter's super-identity is revealed to Mary Jane! This thrilling blockbuster left audiences eagerly awaiting Spider-Man 3!

#7. Best Movie Sequels - Back to the Future II

Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and the gang head to the future this time in order to prevent Marty Jr. (Marty McFly's future son) from making a terrible mistake. If you can overlook that the filmmakers seemed to think that flying skateboards would exist in 2015 (which is doubtful, but let's all keep our fingers crossed), the movie is a hilarious romp through time.

#6. Best Movie Sequels - X-Men: The Last Stand

The third installment in the X-Men series revolves around a "cure" for mutantism that pits the mutants against each other. Many of them embrace the cure, longing to be "normal", but others don't think that they're sick or need "curing". Major characters die and at least one is resurrected. If you're an X-Men fan, it doesn't get better than this!

“Instruction in world history in the so-called high schools is even today in a very sorry condition. Few teachers understand that the study of history can never be to learn historical dates and events by heart and recite them by rote; that what matters is not whether the child knows exactly when this battle or that was fought, when a general was born, or even when a monarch (usually a very insignificant one) came into the crown of his forefathers. No, by the living God, this is very unimportant. To 'learn' history means to seek and find the forces which are the causes leading to those effects which we subsequently perceive as historical events.”
