It's probably safe to say that the latest single from *NSYNC is the most anticipated release of the summer. You've counted the number of sleeps 'til its release and the wait is finally over. Their new song Pop is here and *NSYNC is back in full effect.

I think *NSYNC fans will dig the new song and the dance moves they'll be showing off on the new tour. Pop is a high-energy dance tune with a lot of keyboards. As usual Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez sing the lead vocals and the rest of the guys (Chris, Lance and Joey) back them up. The song is a message to people who diss pop music and slag the band and it was co-written by Justin.

I think Pop is a good pop song and if you were already an *NSYNC fan, you'll love it. But I don't think that it's the type of song that would make you a fan if you aren't already. Although it's catchy, it doesn't measure up to Bye Bye Bye the first single from the record-breaking No Strings Attached. The song would be better if it was less electronica sounding. It's not the music, it's the way they've made their voices sound - like they were altered with a computer. It's not a bad thing, I just wish they didn't do it throughout the whole song. Without the computer effects we would be able to hear their sexy voices much better. If you're not sure what you think of it, play it a couple of times and I'm sure it'll grow on you. It's been growing on me.

*NSYNC performed Pop live on MTV's TRL on June 11, 2001 and since then radio request lines have probably been ringing off the hook. Unfortunately their new CD Celebrity won't hit shelves as soon as you had hoped. The release date was bumped from June 26 to July 24. Until then you'll just have to get your Pop fix on the radio or off the net.
