Paris Bennett won over fans with her soulful tunes in the fifth season of American Idol, and now she's hoping to do it again with the release of her debut album Princess P. We're talking to Paris about the album, American Idol and what she thought about the most talked about Idol of the year - Sanjaya!

Sindy: Hey Paris! Can you start off by telling me a little bit about your new album, Princess P?
Paris Bennett: The album pretty much is me sharing myself with the world - experiences that I've been through, and things that I'm going through now. So you're just kinda joining my life as far as me having my happy times, dancing, silly, and having some more serious issues.

Sindy: What is your favorite song on the album?
Paris Bennett: Umm... Daddy, just because it's a personal song. It's kinda close to me.

Sindy: So why did you decide to go with an independent label for your album, rather than a major one?
Paris Bennett: Just because that once you join a major label, they have so many artists at the time. And the majority of them have a lot of big artists, that you kinda get shoved behind the ones that are already big. So then you're waiting... it's not as one-on-one as an independent label is.

Sindy: You've been able to meet and work with some pretty amazing people, through your Idol days and beyond. Who is one of your favorite people that you've worked with so far?
Paris Bennett: One of my favorites would probably have to be Queen. They had just amazing energy and great personalities, and I loved them just because they allowed me to step into this new world of rock, which I had never really got into before.

Sindy: So what kind of music are you listening to today?
Paris Bennett: I listen to everything from rock to jazz to pop to techno... no one specific genre.

Sindy: Who are a few of your favorite artists?
Paris Bennett: Billie Holiday, Kelly Clarkson, and Beyonce - just to name a few.
