They may just be in kindergarten, but the Powerpuff Girls are crime-fighting experts. Created by science, these cute and colorful cartoon characters have been battling the evil Mojo Jojo and his henchman since 1998. Get the goods on this Cartoon Network show!

Powerpuff Girls - Main Characters

Blossom - As the theme song says, Blossom is the commander and leader of the Powerpuff Girls. Always dressed in pink, Blossom is mature beyond her five years, but can also be a bit bossy!

Bubbles - Bubbles is the baby of the group (not in age, just in personality) and has the special power to speak many languages. While she's usually a bit ditzy, with her blonde pigtails and light blue outfit, Bubbles can also experience extreme bouts of rage.

Buttercup - This Powerpuff Girl is the most aggressive of the three and can sometimes be kind of mean. Always seen in green, Buttercup has short black hair and on rare occasions shows her softer side.

Professor Utonium - This wacky, unmarried scientist created the Powerpuff Girls out of sugar, spice and everything nice. But, when his assistant Jojo accidentally spilled Chemical X into the mix, the girls came out just a little bit different than expected.

The Mayor - The Mayor of Townsville is an absent-minded man who is usually just called Mayor. Without the Powerpuff Girls, Mayor's town would have been destroyed a long time ago.

Ms. Keane - Ms. Keane is the Powerpuff Girls' kindergarten teacher. Her kind, loving personality traits make her well-liked by all the kids in her class - including Bubbles, Buttercup and Blossom.

Mojo Jojo - This crazy monkey used to be Professor Utonium's lab assistant, but since the arrival of the Powerpuff Girls, he has turned his attention to evil. Mojo Jojo is extremely smart and has a very bad temper, but he has yet to defeat the Powerpuff Girls.

Powerpuff Girls - Fun Facts

An anime spinoff of the Powerpuff Girls show debuted in Japan on July 1, 2006. It is called Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z.

Bubbles is voiced by Tara Strong, who is also responsible for voicing characters from Kim Possible, Fairly OddParents, Ben 10 and Teen Titans!

Powerpuff Girls has been nominated five times for an Emmy in the Outstanding Achievement in Animation category - in 2000, the show finally won the award.

Mojo Jojo created evil male counterparts of the Powerpuff Girls called the Rowdyruff Boys. They were made of snips, snails and puppy dogs' tails (just like in the nursery rhyme What are Little Boys Made Of?).
