Prima J Interview

By: Sindy

If you've seen Bratz: The Movie, you probably haven't been able to get the catchy track Rock Star by Prima J out of your head. We caught up with the pop duo to talk Bratz, music and back-to-school. Here's what they had to say!

Sindy: Hi Girls! You were recently signed to Geffen Records - when did you first find out and how did you feel?
Janelle: Our managers arranged a meeting about a year ago with Ron Fair, who is the chairman of Geffen Records, so we went to meet him and he listened to a demo we had at the time. We performed a song for him as well.
Jessica: The meeting was about an hour long, but by the end of the meeting he stuck out his hand to give us a handshake and said "Congratulations girls. I'm your new fairy godfather." We couldn't believe it.

Sindy: I assume you will be working on a debut record soon. What can fans of your single expect from the album?
Jessica: Just like the single, our album is going to be very sassy and fun.
Janelle: You can expect many dance tracks!

Sindy: Your debut single Rock Star is featured on the Bratz: The Movie Soundtrack. Which Bratz girl are you each most like?
Janelle: I suppose we have a little of all of them in us!

Sindy: Were you fans of the show originally?
Jessica: We have never seen the show but we LOVE the dolls!

Sindy: Growing up, who were your musical influences?
Janelle: Wow, there are so many: Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton, Janet Jackson, Christina Aguilera, and TLC just to name a few.

Sindy: Who are some of your favorite artists today?
Jessica: Chris Brown, India Arie, Musiq Soulchild, and Lil Wayne.
Janelle: Ludacris, Lil Wayne, Madonna, and Queens of the Stone Age.

I thought it'd be cool for all the anime fans if there was a forum where we could find friends who like the anime we do :) Personally I really need some more friends who like what I do. Maybe you'll find someone who shares your love for something really obscure! Including manga too. To start off here are some favorites of mine: (just because one isn't here doesn't mean I might not like it too so everyone please share yours!) Black Butler D. Gray-Man No.6 Yu-Gi-Oh Seraph of the End Puella Magi Madoka Magica Horimiya Kekkai Sensen Free! Kyoukai no Kanata Tamako Market (especially its movie!!) My Little Monster Mekakucity Actors (and that whole music project that it's based on) Toradora! haven't finished reading/watching but like: (if you like it I'll make it a priority :)) Akagami no Shirayuki-hime Pandora Hearts Kyou Kara Maou Kuroko no Basket Noragami Kiznaiver  Bungou Stray Dogs The World Is Still Beautiful Ajin Haikyuu!! Aldnoah.Zero Princess Tutu That's all I could think of for now! What are yours? Note: No bashing other people's faves! Have debates/flame wars elsewhere. (Especially about Sword Art Online. Let's not even touch that)

Finding Nemo, only because Finding Dory took awhile to establish itself.

Which channel do you think as of today is the best channel for kids today on cable. I would probably go with Disney XD. It's just as good as it was back in 2009 in my opinion and it has a great selection of shows. What do you think is the definitive channel for kids in 2016?
