Kidzworld's got some free sports and fitness advice on sports like cheerleading. - Page 1

So ya dig sports but need some help with your game? Don't understand some of the rules of football, basketball or hockey? Got a gripe about P.E. class, skateboarders, cheerleading, coaches, or anything? Why not ?

1Hey Coach,
I just made the cheerleading squad, and I am the type of person who likes to help with everything, but not to get attention. I'm afraid if I ask to help, the older cheerleaders will think I'm trying to hog the spotlight, when all I'm trying to do is help. What should I do? tigercubcutie_promqueen

tigercubcutie_promqueen,
I completely understand your dilemma. You are the new kid on the block and the last thing you want to do is step on your older teammates' shoes (or should I say pom-poms?). Just be yourself and if you want to help out, you should. Your captain and older teammates should appreciate the fact you want to contribute to the team and have a positive attitude.

On the other hand, cheerleaders can be dramatic and girls can sometimes be jealous. So you need to make sure you're not trying to show up your older teammates. Remember that they have been there longer so there is seniority. Just quietly do your helping out, don't be boisterous about it. Don't do things expecting praise or bonus points from anybody, do them because you want to contribute. But I'm probably preaching to the wrong person. It seems you're already aware of this and you have good intentions. I think your teammates will embrace your good attitude and you'll be a valuable member of the cheerleading squad for years to come!

Do you need tips or advice on sports, fitness or health? to the Kidzworld Coach. Keep in mind peeps, the Kidzworld Coach isn't a doctor or a professional athlete or anything like that. He's just a dude who digs sports, plays 'em and knows a lot about 'em. You should always talk to your 'rents, a doctor or your school gym teacher before starting a new sport or a new exercise.

They're throwing each other in the air, performing possibly dangerous stunts, not even mentioning that they have to wear those skimpy outfits in freezing weather.  And also, my sister got a severe head injury and a sprained neck while doing a stunt. That's more injured than i've seen a basketball player get.
