Alex Prochazka Interview
By: SimonJust 16 years old, Alex Prochazka is making a big name for himself in the mountain biking world. Last year, Alex was the Under 17 Canadian National Downhill Champion. FInd out what this young biking phenom had to say when he sat down with Simon!
Simon: How did you get involved in biking?
Alex Prochazka: Like any other kid would, just riding.
Simon: What other bikers do you look up to?
Alex Prochazka: Bearclaw, Ben Boyko, and Thomas Vanderham - he's like my health advisor.
Simon: What have you been up to this summer?
Alex Prochazka: Just riding a lot and doing a lot of contests.
Simon: What is your training schedule like?
Alex Prochazka: Nothing serious, just riding and practicing tricks.
Simon: Can you tell us about the new Air Dome bike park in Whistler?
Alex Prochazka: It's just a training facility that has a foam pit and a box jump, and it's pretty much a good place to learn flips and stuff like that.
Simon: What is your best trick?
Alex Prochazka: Double Backflip.
Simon: Where do you get your inspiration to try new tricks?
Alex Prochazka: Well pretty much with contests today you need to learn these tricks to keep up.
Simon: Any new tricks you are working on?
Alex Prochazka: Yeah, I just learned cork flips the other day, and it's like an off-axis backflip.
Simon: When you're not riding, what do you like to do for fun?
Alex Prochazka: Well in the winter, I ski a lot. And in the summer, I go to the beach.
Simon: What do you envision your future being in the sport?
Alex Prochazka: I hope to make a career out of it.
