The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons :: GBC Game Review

After plummeting from the sky into the land of Holodrum, Link's back on his feet and dancing with a hottie named Din in no time. Then Onox, the General of Darkness, kidnaps Din and prepares to do some "end of the world" evil magic by abusing her powers. It turns out she's the magically powerful Oracle of Seasons and it's up to Link to save her.

Aw shoot. Can't Link have any fun?

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons Graphics

The graphics are rocking, for the Game Boy Color. They're the same as the Oracle of Ages, with a few differences for the animation sequences. The sounds are all classic Zelda tunes, bips, bleeps, blops and other wacky noises.

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons Action

You see the action with an overhead view of Link as he adventures in forests, dungeons and castles. You can pick up Rupees for money, items for special powers and hearts to recharge your life points. Beating bosses and finding secrets can score you extra items you need to pass areas. A magical feather makes you light enough to jump pits, shields can block arrows and learning the powers of the Oracle of Seasons lets you change the world from summer to winter.

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons Puzzles

The best part about the Oracle of Seasons is the puzzles. Every dungeon, quest and big boss is about figuring out the secret move, code or item that'll let you pass it. Once you've cracked the secret, the fights are easy. Plus you get all these way cool toys and allies to adventure with.

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons Summary

If you're looking for a hot game, Nintendo's Zelda series is the way to go. If you've played the Oracle of Ages you can use secret codes from it to get extra bonuses in Oracle of Seasons. The games are great by themselves and even better as a pair.

How hard is The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons?

The controls are easy to learn but the puzzles are tricky.
