I personally love Fairy Tales, I feel like they're important to us. As an approaching teenager, I even still love the old stories like Sleeping Beauty and whatnot. They can even teach teens and adults good lessons. And I think anime is based around fairy tales sometimes, which makes me love it more. I understand how a teenager could not like it that much, though.
