Applesauce Cake Recipe

Applesauce Cake Day: June 6, 2009

June 6 is Applesauce Cake Day! Celebrate by making this delicious and easy sweet loaf recipe!



Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg




  • Directions:

    Preheat oven to 350ºF. Mix the first 5 ingredients together. Mix the next 5 ingredients together separately. Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix well. Lightly grease a loaf pan. Place mixture in pan and bake for 1 hour.



    Bonus:

    If you want to make a yummy topping for your cake, mix 1/4 cup packed brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and sprinkle on top of the loaf before baking.
