Pokémon Crowns National Video Game Champions

Over 3,000 People Attended the Pokemon National Video Game Championships

The Pokémon National Championships were recently held in St. Louis. After hours of intense competition against some of the country’s best Pokémon players, 32 competitors advanced to the 2009 Pokémon Video Game World Championships in San Diego in August, where they’ll battle against the best Pokémon video game players from Japan and Europe.



When the dust settled, first and second place finishers were awarded travel for two (and the chance to play in the Pokémon Video Game World Championships, trophies and a Pokémon prize package.



Weekend Winners

Here are a few of the winning players from the National Championships:

  • Junior Division: Jeremiah Fan (age 11, first place) and Mychael Bryan (age 11, second place)
  • Senior Division: Mike Suleski (age 21, first place) and Allen Liu (age 20, second place)
  • The Pokémon Video Game World Championships will take place on August 14 and 15, 2009 at the Hilton Sa
