The time I went to a different country

Posted about 4 months by Mylifesofar

I remember between the summer of 2nd grade and 3rd grade, Me and my mom went overseas. Where did we go? We went to the east African country of Ethiopia. I mainly went there to visit my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and everyone else in my family that lives in Ethiopia, but also to know what Ethiopia is like. The city where I stayed, Addis Ababa, didn't have any skyscrapers. I come from a big city with skyscrapers. It only had high and low buildings. Addis Ababa was where my mom grew up. I stayed at the house my mom once lived in. It was pretty cool. My grandparents were the only people that owned dogs. Dogs were not kept as pets because they were considered wild animals that lived on the streets. They also owned goats and chickens. While in Addis Ababa, I had tons of fun. It was more than I expected. The food was good because I tried it before. It was called Ingera, Which was a bread that was like a pancake with millions of holes in it. On top of it is special stews. You eat with your hands and to eat it your have to tear of Ingera and with Ingera, pick up the stew you wish to eat. My favorite stew is Chicken stew with Cheese. You can eat Ingera at your local Ethiopian Resturant. I can't wait to go back to Ethiopia!
