Yes it is a sport. I get mad at people who don't consider it a sport, especially the team I cheer for. They say that cheerleading is easy and if they weren't busy making touchdowns that they would do it themselves. Unless you don't cheerlead, you don't know how much conditioning that us girls have to do. It's hard. I come home from practices sore. So anyone who thinks it isn't a sport is by far wrong.

Hi , okay soo I have been in cheerleading since I was 3 and im almost 17 now. When you cheer for a team, no that's not a sport. BUT if you are in competitive cheer then it should be considered a sport. If you look at the injury stats it shows that cheerleading injuries and football injuries are very close to number. Dance should not be considered a sport for the fact that all they do is move. That's it. Which makes me made due to the fact that in cheerleading you lift girls, throw girls in the air, dance, do gymnastics and compete. So that's my reasoning for it.

Maybe competitive cheerleading, but not just cheerleading to encourage the other teams. I used to be a cheerleader, so don't say I don't think I'm saying no because I don't know the pains of being a cheerleader and whatnot. :l
