Well, you should start by researching your side of the argument, to see if you're correct.
Then have evidence to back up your reasoning, alongside with proof.

The only way to win an argument is by being better at arguing than the other person. You don't even have to be correct in your side of things, as long as you debate it better than the opponent.

the best way to win an argument is to know what you're talking about. (or at least be able to make it look like you do)

however, there is no guarantee, and you need to know when you can't win.
