Chess, fishing and nascar aren't sports they're activities. If i say the word jock you'd probably think of a fit muscular guy. That's not the kinda guy who does these things. Sports require PHYSICAL skill, chess, nascar and fishing DON'T. Everyone is entitled to their opinion though so what do you guys think ?

P.s: the actual definition of sports is : competitive  PHYSICAL activity . Notice the " physical  " part of it.

I'd say that the definition of sport needs to be changed to include many things.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain...

Well, I know nascar isn't a sport anyway.
But fishing is half and half. It takes a bit of strength in your arms to cast off properly. But not really much else.
In the dictionary, sport is defined as a noun. "An activity involving physical exertion and skill, in which an individual or team competes against another or others."
Although, I have to disagree with "Involving Physical", because technically, chess excersises your brain. It develops your thinking and problem solving skills, much like physical sports, which develop your muscles and stamina.

So we can say that chess is like a non-physical sport.
And NASCAR is pathetic.
