Yeah if a parent is going to scream at babies they need some therapy and parenting classes

All spanking as a form of punishment is abuse and can have long-lasting damaging effects on the child.

What did this mean? Who was I? What was I? Whence did I come? What was my destination? These questions continually recurred, but I was unable to solve them.

I know I am 12 years old and he has a paddle, and he makes me bend down over the couch or lie on the bed face down and then props my behind up with pillows. Also, sometimes I go over his leg. And for my birthday everyone does that birthday smack and it hurts and they pull my pants down. And use the paddle, it hurts but I looked it up and it is not illegal but a punishment which I understand, it did say on the computer that it is recommended for a teenager ages twelve to 18 to have a paddle. And my behind is red as a tomato and he is gonna do it again tonight this was the first time since I was six years old

That explains my problems then, huh?

Someone once told me not to bite off more than I can chew. I told them I'd rather choke on greatness than nibble on mediocrity.

It depends on how hard they spank you. Where I live parents can spank you up to 13 and even on the bare behind. But if it takes longer than a day for the red to go away then its abuse. Getting a spanking at 12 is really nasty. Believe me I know.

It's not child abuse, but it's the wrong form of discipline at that age. For babies who grab things they shouldn't, a smack on the hand/wrist is preferred. Then they associate the reach of said object with pain and learn to stay away from it. Same goes for if they touch knives, stoves, mom's expensive nic nacs, etc.

Constantly harming them, be it physical or with words/shouting is abuse. Like everyday, for no reason

Doing it occasionally, like when they have done something wrong isn't abuse, its just, as alphaT said, discipline, whether its the right method or not.
