It might give them the initial idea to do it. They don't have the knowledge to realize that it's not the right thing to do. The teens listen to it everyday that they start thinking about it. But it would also have to be a combination of either the parents or the people they hang around. I listen to rap everyday and I don't have even a hint of temptation to go rob someone or sell drwgs.

Don't think it's just rap music. It's definitely the easiest to blame for something like this though. And definitely not the most favorited among the general public.

What? People make their own decisions independent of rap. People that don't listen to rap commit crimes and become pregnant as well. And not all rap is bleeps, vulgarity, and sleaze.

If they were, then why don't we say the same thing for books. Books talks about different ideas more sophisticated usually and/or appealing to follow. That doesn't mean the person can blame his chosen actions on the book he read. I feel it's wrong to assume such things..like imagine having a person endorsing the ideas every book carries, each time he is a different person.

I think some of the Rpa/Hip-Hop could encourage bad behavior but not necessarily cause people to do crimes.
It's not like all Rap glamorizes the lifestyle of a thug either. There's a ton of Rap with positive messages. (Ex. Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore, Aesop Rock)
