The topic has frequently come up in the Express Your Faith board, and it seems like a lot of people don't understand Evolution, so I'm making a thread to answer any of your questions. Just to let you know two things from the start though: 1) "Evolution" is the name of a fact and a theory, just like "Gravity" is a fact, theory and law. A theory never becomes a fact, it explains one. The Theory of Evolution explains the process called Evolution, which is a fact. 2) The definition of 'proof' I'll be using is "a fact established by evidence;" that's the legal definition and means that 'proof' and 'evidence' are different.

Where did we evolve from? Its been on my mind. And I know it cant or can be monkeys. I'm not sure.

We came from other ape species that are extinct. Humans are related to monkeys through a common ancestor species, but we're closer related to other apes, like chimpanzees, orangutans, and gorillas.

I hope this topic helps some people, we probably wouldn't have so many arguments about evolution on the EYF topics if people understood evolution before they posted.

no of fence but you are wrong terminology wise. a theory can not be proven only unproven witch means if its a theory it can never be a fact while its a theory.

we did evolve from a primitive monkey named Lola who was the first to dare walk on land once the trees she lived in disappeared. later we adjusted and became the missing link.
