Depends..here where I live we have the right to work policy which basicly states they can fire you if they dont like your skin color, your shirt, your hair, your car, or they can fire if they just think your better than the boss. So in jobs, yes.

First off, "Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin." Second, are you pointing out the racism where you live and saying that it's wrong, or stating that you think racism in the case of employment is valid?
