Do you believe in beauty pageants?

Do you think beauty pageants are right> Yes or no? If no, why? If yes, why? I think beauty pageants are OK......to a point. Like natural pageants are cool because your not drowning your daughter in makeup and inappropriate outfits (Don't get me wrong, not all people do that-- but a majority does). My older sister did a few pageants as a baby and won them all but it was all natural and wasn't all glitzy and makeup-y. What's your opinion?

If adults or teenagers would like to do it, then alright. Though I don't agree on judging people on their looks, it can make people very, very overly confident, thinking that looking beautiful [paving slabs of makeup and an orange tan??] and winning is all that ever mattered. I've never heard of a natural pageant but that sounds much better. I imagine that children would think they weren't good enough or pretty enough if they did not win the first prize in their talent. A lot of children don't actually like doing it either -  their parents pushed them into this because they are hungry for success and will not give their kid a chance to run around and play like a normal girl/boy. I really don't think that you need a trophy, glittery dresses, tan and make up to be considered beautiful.

I'm sort of on the fence. I greatly dislike it when parents force children into doing pageants, but if a child truly enjoys it I think he or she should be able to participate in them.

Why do churches teach fear when they should teach love?

If you don't have anything nice to wear, don't wear anything at all.

it depends on the pageant and the person who is in it. I am assuming you are a self respecting person and a self respecting person would keep it appropiate
