i don't think dat the world will end in 2012. i graduate that year by the way. but i think it is odd dat in different calenders they all stop on 2012.

The Bible says that the day will never be stated, because you should always be prepared for when the LORD comes.
I don't think it will end in 2012 because if everyone thinks so, its not going to be that date. Because its supposed to happen when everyone leasts expects it.

AMoriginal97 is right. I seriously doubt that the world will end on 2012. Didn't they say the world would end in 2000? The Lord will come when he wants and nobody knows. But I will tell you this, the day that the Lord will come is coming closer. That's what my dad says. I believe him too.
I dont know about the year 2012, but the final 3 and a half years has almost begun...r u ready?
I can agree with the "theory" I dont think its rubbish, its the best we have to go on. And i believe it will come in a way the world never saw coming.
I remember doing a research paper on this...
Well, maybe not exactly, but what I did compare three problems in today's society with three of what is known as the seven signs of the Christian apocalypse which are described in the book of revelation (I won't bother telling you all of them, I'm a bit lazy at the moment). The the signs that I compared were:
A. A rise in natural disasters
B. A world-wide epidemic taking lives of people by the billions, and
C. The water turning into blood, causing a chain effect of marine life becoming virtually extinct
I compared A to the fact that natural disasters have become more common and dangerous throughout the years. For B I compared it to the fact that we're living in a world where an epidemic can be much easier to spread from continent to continent, all because of airline travel (aka, airplanes). I know that C seems pretty far-fetched, and I highly doubt that this would happen, but if you think about it you could compare it to water pollution. Water pollution takes a definite toll on the environment, and seeing that there are lakes and rivers that are so polluted that you can't even swim in it, it is possible that whole entire seas and oceans can become just as polluted, causing the same devastating results as the sign described in the Book of Revelation.
As for why I explained that? Well although I don't specifically think that the world is going to end in 2012, I do think that some of whats happening today and some of the descriptions of apocalypses described in different cultures could be warning signs to future generations about what could happen if the world leads to the wrong path. Maybe its just that our world today could be facing a turning point in the near future, and that turning point is leading to two paths: world devastation or or world renewal.
Not to say that I 100% think that this could happen. I mean, I could be totally wrong on this. It's hard to tell whether or not the whole "the worlds going to end" and apocalypse theories are all true or just conspiracy. It's all on a matter of oppinion.

Well, I don't believe it, first off.
Second, the world was supposed to end a bunch of times and, in case you
haven't noticed, I'm still here.
It's not going to end, IMO.

The Myan calendar ends on December 21, 2012.
So the Myans assumed that since it ended, so would the world.
I personally doubt that the world is going to end then.
The world could end in 10 minutes, or even tomorrow morning.

The world officially ends when every single person on earth has heard about God.
