What are your thoughts on the Holocaust?

I think it was wrong to be slaughtered because of your religion. My family, which was partly Jewish, survived the Holocaust. I am a mix of:

Jewish
and
German

And many other cultures. I have no problem with racial differences or religious differences. And I would have fought for the Jews. I don't actually know if that would happen, given that I would be raised very differently.

An extremely well organized and beautifully executed genocide against various groups of people in the name of an ideology with laughable beliefs. Ethically abhorrent nonetheless. Most people here (and indeed, most people everywhere) will be extremely one dimensional when discussing anything relating to WW2, and have not given it any serious thought.

Mutual caring relationships require kindness and patience, tolerance, optimism, joy in the other's achievements, confidence in oneself, and the ability to give without undue thought of gain.

As Zachary said, it was a very good system in how it works, but ethically terrible. It was the innocent bloodshed of millions of people, with the mentality to exterminate what some Germans thought were inferior races. It should never have happened.

I agree with both of the above commenta in the fact that you can't ignore the well placed system. But, as also said before, it involved unnessicary bloodshed and pain to those who are innocent and undeserving of such a tragety. {sp?}

I do not like bad grammar, and there is a high chance of me correcting you.

I must agree that it was clever, and well executed, but I must also say that while the Germans fought for their pureness and culture, they gave themselves a terrible reputation. What brought them down in the end was Hitler. He was insane, and drove his country to the ground.

Too much ambition.

Hitler essentially tried to do an Impossible task. Wipe out an entire race.

The Holocaust was not merely an act of horror on a religion, but people with differences. The Holocaust should not be forgotten, not only because every person who lost their lives deserved to be remembered, but also because it can stop us from making mistakes in the future. People need to understand that people are different. The sooner this is accepted, the better.
