One of the greatest things about being human is our ability to choose and create our lives. I think once people acquire the realization that we ourselves can determine our path and future then we can fulfill our potential of becoming anything. But this potential can not come from outside forces such as parents, friends, society, or any institution or faith based system. All of those things hinder your ability to become who you are. If you continue living your life based on any popularized system you will fail to authenticly become an individualized person.

Yeah, down with civilization!

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain...

I agree to an extent, however, I believe faith is an important part of who you are, and you can not just throw it a way. Discovering your faith helps you discover who you are personally.

Thank you for making me think about this and I never thought about it before smile

[minutes later]  I think you can make the choices but theres other factors what you cant control that creates your life. So for example you could buy the raffle ticket but someone else could win the prize cos you cant control what ticket was picked.

Most certainly not. Our decisions, choices, and actions are what create us.

That's an Ability of Conscience. Everything Endowed with Conscience, even what u consider animals is endowed with the ability of choose and create their life ( ur logic ) . I don't see how it's Great and How it's Specially about Humans.

Our Surroundings determines it, and we determine our surroundings. so yeah. But, Your 'reputation depends on the observer .

Veritas! (Truth!)

we can't let the trappings if an increasingly secular world make us who we are. We've seen what this world does to people. Once it has a hold on you, you're done. We can't let that happen. We are the future of this world. We have the power to change it for better, or make it worse. One thing to keep in mind is that when the world becomes increasingly secular, that is when God sends saints to lead us back to Him.
