People always are claiming 'God' talked to them or connected with them... in english! English is a human invention. Since chirstianity is a middle-eastern religion, wouldn't 'God' only speak arabic? (Or whatever middle-eastern language.) Since the bible says a day is 1000 years in gods eyes, it's only been 2 days since Jesus died. I don't know about you, but 2 days isn't enough time to learn any language. You can say, "He's God and can do anything!" But when he commisioned noah to save all of the animals (Including microbes) he forgot to tell him to take the dinosaurs too. Sooooo... I'm probably gonna get trashed and yelled at, but I don't care if you believe in god, I just thought this was a good conversation piece.

Sorry, let me try that again.  I posted too quickly. I'm an evolutionist Christian.  The dinosaurs were not wiped out by the flood, which probably didn't even cover the whole earth.  Plenty of animals survived, Noah just saved the ones in the immediate vicinity.  I hate to say it, but the Bible was written by man.  It has some brilliant stories and good advice in it, but man can be wrong.  Just because the Bible says something like the one day to a thousand years ratio is real, doesn't mean it is. So two thousand years could have passed however slow or fast God wanted.  And God can learn a language instantly.  He's God, after all.

Firstly, If those people have valid proof, then believe them, but i bet that 99% of people can't prove that.  If this story about God is real, then no-body will know for sure what language any of them spoke, because no-body was alive then. You won't get yelled at, it's a good question and a pretty good debate topic.

Exactly. The bit where you explained where the bible was written by man was correct. But there is one other thing, the bible is what gives us the idea of god. You yourself said Man can be wrong. Therfore, couldn't he have been wrong about god?

I'm sure you're not looking for vague answers.  But partially, one of the reasons I believe in God is because it feels right.  I know, I sound silly, but it's like the times when you meet someone and you immediately have a good feeling about them, you know that they're a good person.  It's a little like that. And while I don't trust some parts of the Bible, there are other parts I do.  Jesus, I believe existed.  And if Jesus existed, as did his miracles, then theoretically God does too. And while I'm not the type of person to explain miracles of nature and science away as "GodGodGod," looking at some things, I see God in them.   And, we're here.  In some ways, when you break it down, it seems like things couldn't possibly just spring from nothing into the complex web of WORKING it is now.  We went from a point of singularity to people with the internet and working eyeballs.    -shrugs- It's just little bits of everything that makes me believe in God.  At least I can explain it better than some of my Christian friends.  All in all, believe what you want.  I'm not going to try and change your mind.

God can speak to you any way he prefers. It doesn't have to be language. It can be a feeling, dreams, anything really. If I hear the voice of God it would probably be in English since that's the language I understand. If my Grandma heard God it would be in Yoruba since that's the language she understands. I'm assuming God would only talk to you in the language you can understand. Because you've only heard people who speak English claim they've heard God's voice you think he can only speak to people in that language; that's not necessarily true.
