Do you think it's right for parents to force their religion upon their children? Is there a line between Sunday morning church assemblies and an unhealthy obsession with god? I'm not talking about parents dressing their children up in their Sunday best and dragging them to church even though the kid would rather stay at home. I'm asking whether or not it's right and healthy to bring your kids up in a somewhat narrow-minded religious home without allowing them room to ask questions. Not whether or not taking them to church is abusive.

I don't think its right! If they are abusively taking you to a Sunday school then its not rite. I hate going to Sunday school too! That's because my teacher is very abusive.....I hate it! I tried telling it to my mom....she never listens to me! She yells for no reason and goes on about things which are gross and disgusting to hear about!

...not sure how to respond to that last part.

Correct me if I'm wrong...because I'm wrong a lot!

Is Veganisim Child Abuse?

Is teaching Almish culture Child Abuse?

Once you understand your reasoning of why these are all not child abuse, you will understand mine.

Where you grow up and what you are taught as true or raised with all doesn't matter, I think. Because in the end you will always have your reasons for believing or not believing and whether those reasons are valid or not doesn't change the fact that you yourself decided that they are fit justifying your conviction. A kid have many sources to find answers if he really wants to search for his own truth, or just truth.

You can't choose what stays and what fades away.

I think parents shouldn't force religion upon their children. They should respect the fact that their children have to right to choose what they believe. I mean, going to church every Sunday doesn't ensure belief in God or that they will go to church as an adult.

I don't think not leaving room for questions about religion is child abuse, but I think parents (or parents/guardian) should be open to answer their child's questions. It is so frustrating for a kid if they can't ask questions. The kids should have support of their parents no matter what religion they are or aren't. So no, it is not ABUSE, it is just keeping their kid in a box full of questions until they are old enough to find out for themselves.

No. No one have the choice of where he is brought up and by whom, but that doesn't mean that people have no choice in believing in something or not. No one can actually make you think something forcibly.

My opinions is right has the possibility of being wrong, and your opinion is wrong has the possibility of being right.
