Hey dudes. I seriously don't know what to believe.... I mean, I try to think from different religions, and I don't think I believe in any. Now, I might be Atheist, but I don't exactly want to believe that there is no place you go when you die. I'm confused, because I'm making my Confirmation this year. I really really want to believe there's somewhere to go when you die, but that's not Atheism. Please help? I don't really believe in Catholic or Christian faith.

Yeah, but my mum always says I should be a Christian as a child and then when I'm 18 I can decide. I disagree with this. I should believe what I want to believe. And my Dad and Sister say the same, and then I don't want to talk about this with teachers. But I'll look online

You have the freedom to believe what you want, but I beg of you..reconsider Christianity. Just give God one more chance....and if you need any help....as is shown in 2 Timothy 3:16, I can help you.

Hello,to whom this may concern, My names Dante and I've been where you are, in fact I think you are in a slight better position then I was because I don't sense you having a bias and are really searching for a sense of closure on this.      Ater watching people influence after influence from conspiracist to preachers to teachers to congressmen I've  seen in and out how we are controlled by what in Gods name OTHER people believe to be right. when my friend, the primary one to convert me was done with all his explanations  I said, " ok, thank you, I'm going to sleep on this and I appreciate your time to tell me about your faith" that next morning he looked at me and said "so what do you believe" and I said "I don't known yet" and there was one thing that he said that bothered me and till this day I've not told him but it was that one statement that told me all about his style and of  the lengths he'd go just to get someone to get someone to conform to his belief set. He said "Umm, I hoped that after all that I did that you'd believe now". You would have had to have been there but what he was doing was patronizing me in the most settle way he could and it beleaguers me to this day. So as I said, you seem to not have a bias in every aspect of what you want premise Your life on in every thing except in the fact that you seem to want believe in SOMETHING.  The  road to God isn't easy because you have so many people telling you what to believe in school, home, teevee.  You see the hardest thing for a man to do is to be an individual, to make up your own mind in your own way, and live for yourself because the argument of authority and popularity are both what this country is fueled by,in my opinion.  That even the question of "WHO IS God and WHAT is GOD" is irrelevant compared to the question of Why do I want a God, Why do I even care about whether God exists or not. The answer to those are as divers from person to person then the religion we believe itself is. But it's questions like those that we neglect to answer, it's an innate answer therefore we do know the answer but when we do choose to not acknowledge these questions we loose focus on the real reason why we started our journey in the first place and we end up spending our entire lives trying to uphold something that we don't even care about. Because its not the religion we care about but the reason we chose that religion is what we care about. Thats why I always laugh when someone post a thread that says something like "GOD is one hundred percent real, go ahead, prove that" because that's not the point. You see it doesn't matter if   I give you infallible proof of anything, or if teh skittles convinces everyone of his idea. If you notice, after every debate, every conversation, every thread, we all go to sleep the same way we came in before the debate, conversation,or thread. At the very least we are just slightly changed. That's because it's not the evidence of God or that even God exist but the reason for the search in the first place is where we really start at and it's where you obtain that reason is where your going to settle.

Atheism has nothing to do with afterlife. Atheism only refers to belief in a deity. There are plenty of atheists that believe in afterlife or reincarnation.  Also, don't believe in an afterlife just because it's comforting. Just because something is more comforting, that doesn't make it anymore likely to be true.
