Yes, they do. If you think the bible should be used as a "moral guide", you're wrong. Christians almost NEVER follow the bible anyways, just because they don't feel like doing half the things in it, and they actually change the book to satisfy their own stomachs, because they don't use it as their moral guide. Are we having people being burned at the stake, beheaded and flogged today?  No, we aren't. Why? Because Christians don't use the bible for morals, or do anything it tells us to do in it.

I agree to this! Big Grin anyways according to me holy books do tell us morals but satisfying the Almighty so according to me it has no connection with morals of any kind Frustrated its just my way of thinking

I disagree! When Jesus died on the cross, all you had to do was beleive in Him!

@Sun That's not even relevant to what I'm saying. If god gives me a set of unreliable information and a history of a religion filled with terror and genocide, I'm not too tempted to go back to believing in it just because a man named Jesus died on a wooden post.

This.

I see it all perfectly; there are two possible situations — one can either do this or that. My honest opinion and my friendly advice is this: do it or do not do it — you will regret both. -Søren Kierkegaard

It's okay, because God should have already taken me out via locust swarm quite some time ago. See that pesky section about following your own moral compass and trusting your own common sense? "The Lord will not spare him, but then the anger of the Lord and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the Lord shall blot out his name from under heaven."
