Clara's eyes widened with glee. "Thank you, Amos!" she beamed, running right up to him and hugging him hard. She let go, to breathe. Then she looked up at Shiralee with an expression of pure excitement.

Amos didn't smile, not even at Clara's embrace. "If she gets hurt, I'll never forgive you," he hissed lowly, so Clara couldn't hear. Then he looked stonily ahead and walked off. He thought he heard Clara shout 'goodbye' to him, but he didn't respond. He walked off into the moonlight, his footsteps echoing in the misty streets.

Shiralee didn't respond. She was sure Clara would have heard what Amos had said, or, being a rather intelligent 10-year-old, at least she might take a pretty accurate guess. She slowly moved an arm around Clara, prepared to do whatever necessary to protect her. As she revealed a handful of gold coins from her only pocket, she allowed a gentle smile to spread across her face. "I'll buy us some ice-cream from the deli, soon", she said softly, smiling down at Clara.

"We can stay at one of those big mansions on the side of the lake and risk being arrested ... although when they see the snakes they're likely to run and scream ..." Casper muttered, mostly speaking to Clara. "Or we can find some cheap motel room ... It's up to you", he said calmly, straightening his leather jacket slightly before the snake around his neck dematerialised.

Clara imagined what Amos had probably said, although she didn't ask. She clutched Shiralee's hand and smiled up at Caspar. "I don't mind," she answered, trying to keep her fascinated, curious gaze away from the snake. "I wouldn't mind staying at the mansions, but if there's a big risk, I'd be happy to stay in a motel."

(Sorry, I was eating dinner).

"Mansion", Casper muttered without hesitation, at the same time the snake around his neck took it's complete form again. The cool feel of it's scales against his neck was barely even noticeable to him; most likely a result of the fact he was so used to it.

Shiralee smiled again at Clara, holding her hand gently as she walked in the direction of the houses Casper had mentioned. As they reached the large house, her eyes widened at the slightest, but remained calm and friendly. "It's beautiful", she commented.

Clara skipped alongside Shiralee, avoiding the cracks in the pavement - as a usual, typical ten year old girl's game would be. When she laid her eyes on the mansion, her eyes widened with awe and her mouth dropped open. "It's incredible," she barely whispered, feeling a wide smile spread across her face.

Cassie looked at Casper with her green eyes. She knew it was never gonna happen but their was no way she could stop thinking about him. Cassie pretented not to feel heartbroken "Nice place" she said "Compared to mine..." she pulled out a photo from when she moved here:

(Sorry again, I just had a big dessert).

Shiralee watched as Casper pressed his open palm against the door, slowly pushing it open as the snake around his neck wrapped around his arm, almost as if it were ready to defend him in case they were attacked. "Clear", he announced in a low tone, hardly bothering to glance back at the others. His gaze settled on Cassie, but he looked away in a matter of seconds. Get over her. His dark hair shadowed his features from view as he faced the door again, only making his glowing yellow eyes visible beneath the darkness. "And what is this ..." he trailed off as he opened the fridge door within the kitchen. "Doesn't look like you'll need to buy any ice-cream", he declared as the lights in the freezer came on.
