Dear dish it,

I have just finished half of my first year at highschool, I'm in year 7. I have met two amazingly amazing friends, but there is a problem. They said they were cousins at the start of the year but lately I found out that was a lie. They also fight over sitting next to me, and have resorted in booking with me over text message to sit next to me. I find this hard because I have lots of other friends as well. They also send mean text messages to each other about one having a sleepover with me and the other one not getting one. They talk about eachother behind their backs and say some pretty awful stuff. Tjey still claim to be best friends but now have decided they need to spend every recess and lunch with just them two, and inform me over text message saying it is just me and the friend today, and you can't hang with us sorry. But if that isn't bad enough they constantly ask me which one I like better, I say I like them both exactly the same but they won't take that answer, it has to be one or the other. What do I do? I really don't want to lose them but is it worth staying friends with them?

I've tried and it resolved in them spending lunch and recess together and pushing me further and further out of the relationship.

But what do I do about them fighting over me?

well maybe they're unaware of how this is making you feel uncomfortable. i think you should address the issue to both of them soon
