Okay... I'm in a year 7 class with this guy, and he cuts himself (at school) with a compass he takes with him. He doesn't seem to realise that not only is this a very serious situation that harms himself, but that it harms everyone around him too... We're not necessarily friends, but I hate sitting next to him and knowing he's cutting himself right there.
Now, the teachers do know, and they're probably dealing with it, but just for those times where saying something could make a difference... Some advice please?
He has cuts all down his arm and... Ugh I feel sick thinking about it...
He doesn't seem depressed or anything, not that I would know... He smiles and laughs all the time... I hate being in this awkward situation, especially when I know it's serious.
Also, his friends know. No one is cheering him on or anything. Our class is findibg it hard to handle as individuals. We try to get him to give us his compass, but that never works and it would only be a short tine solution. I want to approach him as a friend, but how?
I know this is serious, and I know it isn't my responsibility as he has parents, friends and hands on teachers... Just for when I'm right next to him and I see the blood... Please help, I don't know what to do.
