Is it weird I would rather go to my birthday meal with family and not 'friends'?

So my 13th birthday is soon and my mum asked me to invite 5 people from school, but the thing is - I just CANNOT think of a single name of someone who I should invite. Let's face it, I have no friends, and I don't think I ever will.
Is it odd to spend my 13th birthday with family and not people my age....?

but my dear, this is not wonderland, and you are not alice.

I don't think so.
I have a few close friends, but on my twelfth birthday, I simply sat inside my house eating black forest cake and playing Aion online.
I enjoyed it.

But I disagree where you say you don't think you'll ever have friends. Friends come from the most unlikely places. One of my best friends, who I now call my sister, I'd known for over four years but we'd never spoken to each other. It wasn't until we'd joined debate together that we'd realized how alike we were.  I'm sure you'll have the perfect amount of close friends, whether you consider that 1 or 100.
