I think that it'd be rude to just come straight out and ask them if it would be awkward. Just keep an eye on how their doing. it's not your fault that it could be awkward. If they do break up then just keep your distance from them until it's all been forgotten. Then, they may want to be just friends again. If it never gets back to normal then you need to tell them what their doing to you. Remember not to get invovled at the beginning of a break up. You can't get yourself back out.

I know that's a hard position to be in and you're paranoid about what's going to happen in the future but now you just need to try to be happy for them and hope that it all works out. There's not much you can do to control what goes on in their relationship and how it may end, sorry.
