So, I was planning on getting the game known as Skyrim, and I came upon this. "WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO: Immediately Ban the Deadly Videogame Known as "SkyRim" for The Safety of America's Youths. Whereas videogaming has proven to cause social, ethical and health problems in people of all ages, Whereas sexual perversion and homosexuality are threatening to destroy the Christian foundations on which this nation was built, Whereas a new video game has just been created that far exceeds any others in the psychological and spiritual damage it does to teens, We, the American people, today ask you, 1) To enact an immediate ban on the videogame known as "SkyRim" produced by Blizzard Entertainment. 2) To seize and destroy all copies already in public hands and erase its presence on the internet. 3) To prosecute the players of "SkyRim" to the fullest extent of the law. 4) To create a national database of videogame avatars and "screen names" so that teenagers can be better monitored." It was on the white house website, where anyone can create a petition. I have seen that it needs 25,000 signatures for the ban, and so far it already has  546 and counting. I honestly think this is the work of a troll, but if people take it too seriously and 25,000 signatures are reached, there may be no choice but for the government to ban Skyrim. I don't think it will reach that many, but... you never know. Do you think it will be banned?  Do you think it is possibly an internet troll, trying desperately to cause trouble? I would like to know what some of your thoughts are.

I..don't think so.  I'm sure video games have done stuff like that before.  The fans wouldn't allow it, anyways, you could expect protests-not even for the game itself-just the concept, if it gets approved. It's probably just some parent who doesn't understand. Probably a Christan parent. Just my 2 cents though.

This is just ridiculous. Not only is it interfering with our rights, the petitioner also said it was published by Blizzard. Good god, get your facts straight man! For the Government to censor such a popular game, I would think it would cause an uproar. How the hell are they going to get rid of every copy? Break down everyones doors and search 'em?

This is complete nonsense. I doubt it'll be banned. I find it sad that someone on the Whitehouse's site actually made this petition. If you think Skyrim is "damaging your spirituality" then don't play it. No one is forcing you to buy it. Don't ruin everyone else's fun just because you don't like the game.

I used to want to ban Skyrim, then I took an arrow to the knee.

Lol. Do you agree to this? Im almost positive that other games have done just as bad, and/or worse. Parents can approve of what their teen plays, and game rating say that the game is explicit. Also- this country was founded upon freedom of religion, not christianity. So, i'm quite sure this is simply another republican.

People like it, a lot of them, apparently, so it'll only be the corny "we get offended by the teensiest amount of violence" people.
