In the future of the U.S. scientists say that love is a disease. The disease called Delira. It's suppose to make you not think correctly and some other things. So the government has everyone do an evaluation which is basically an interview when they are 17 or 18. Then they get something called "the cure" which is suppose to make you not get delira. Then there is the Invalids which are people that don't believe in delira. They live in the woods. Some live life as U.S. ciitizens and live as invalids in secret. After evaluations you are given a list of people that the government has approved for you to marry after college or highschool. They try to keep the girls and boys separate before they get the cure. Some teens begin dating in secret.
