I nodded, paid for lunch, and went to visit Lila's grave. I had stopped to get roses to put on her grave, and soon I arrived. I put to roses down, smiling softly at how pretty they looked. My lower lip quivered with tears, and I sat on my knees, grieving with my face buried in my hands, until I could grieve no more. I ended up strangely falling asleep in the lonely woods where I had Lila buried, since she had no family besides me, I was in charge of it. She had loved this spot, and I was more than happy to have the service here, where the wild flowers grew in the Summer, and a stream ran alongside it. During the Summer time, I tended to it, and last year, I'd cleared away leaves, and put down smooth river rocks, planted some flowers and made it look like a Zen Garden, knowing she'd love it. The fresh snow didn't bother me, since my jacket was thick and warm. During sleep, I dreamed of what had happened that day. "Ashton! Let's have lunch here!" Lila said, as they passed the small clearing in the woods. It was Springtime, and the grass was growing, flowers were blooming. I smiled at the brown-haired Russian girl, and nodded as I spread out the picnic blanket and set down the basket. We sat down, listening to the stream trickle for a while before we started eating lunch, after which, we lay on the blanket in each other's arms. Lila smiled softly at me, her green eyes sparking happily. "Thank you Ashton. I love Italy so much, I'm so glad you let me stay with you." I smiled back, of course, pulling her closer. "Well of course, I can't just leave you in America while I'm basking in the Italian sun, now can I?" I asked. We both laughed to that, and as Lila fell asleep, I felt myself being pulled away, and had no idea what was going on until I felt the rag being pressed to my face and felt the vapor in my head, jumbling my thoughts, and finally blacking out.. [To be continued]

I walked into the apartment and began to clean the kitchen. "Italy eh? Never thought that would happen." An all too familiar voice spoke from behind me. I quickly turned and was staring into the eyes of Ambrose, my dead boyfriend. "You're back. I thought you'd left me." I said softly. A week after he died I've been seeing his ghost. I didn't know if it was true or if I was just crazy. He slowly looked me up and down and smiled slightly. "You haven't changed one bit." I chuckled softly and felt the tears begin to fall down my cheeks. "Why?" He whispered. I looked up at him, puzzled. "Why what?" I asked. He guestered to the room. "Why did you move on? So quickly too..." I took a step back in surprise. "I-" "You were supposed to save me!" He interrupted. "You saw how I was after Ash died! I wouldn't eat, I wouldn't sleep.. How could you have been so oblivious?! You were supposed to be the reason I wanted to live!" I covered my ear and squeezed my eyes shut, falling to my knees. "Stop it!" I screamed. His voice was just echoing in my head as he continued to rant. Alaska began to bark. It was all too much. "Stop... Stop.. STOP!!!" I finally screamed. Everything suddenly became silent. I uncovered my ears and opened my eyes. Alaska was asleep and Ambrose was gone.

[Continued] I awoke to Lila screaming, and opened my eyes to see myself tied up, arms behind my back, legs tied at the ankles. Another guy, about my age was grabbing her. She was trying to get away and kept screaming my name. The guy ripped off her shirt, and smirked at me. "It must hurt to watch, huh?" he snarled cruelly. "Don't worry, you're next" he added before going back to his work, right in front of me, afterwards, making me watch as he skinned and scalped her alive, as I screamed my throat raw. "Lila!" I cried, eyes wide tears streaming down my face as I stared at the gruesome pile of skin and hair, and all the like. "Lila..." I whispered, as the other guy laughed, and laughed even more. I had been saved, after being assaulted, and mentally abused for months. I had been so ill after that, I wouldn't go to school, I wasn't even at Lila's funeral. The whole time I beat myself down, knowing it was all my fault. All I did was watch. I was screaming in my sleep, crying Lila's name and curling up into a ball, hearing her cold accusation in my head. You could have saved me! All you did was watch me die! I finally woke up, scrambling away from her grave, not making it more than a few yards away before collapsing and sobbing my eyes out.

I cried for about 2 hours then I finally ran out of tears. I curled up in bed and began to cry again. I could have saved him. I could have gotten him help. But I didn't. Alaska curled up next to me and gently whined. Will I turn out like him? Will I let his death eat me inside until I break myself?

I walked home afterward, deep in thought. I should have killed myself when I had the chance. I thought. She was r@*ed and murdered while I watched... Why did he let me live... please just kill me now... I came home, pulling off my shoes and got dressed in an extra set of pajamas I kept in the downstairs bathroom, a baggy white button up shirt and pants. I then grabbed a white blanket and lay down, pulling it over me, so the only thing showing was my face, my eyes now a dull brown. I wasn't planning on going anywhere.

I heard movement downstairs, knowing it was just Ashton. I didn't have the will to get up though. I began to think. Is it even worth it? Should me and Ashton even be together when we're both clearly not over our dead lovers? I looked down at the fresh cuts on my wrists and sighed. Is my life even worth living?

I thought for hours, before finally coming to a conclusion. I'm not nearly as strong as October.. I can't take it anymore. I need to be with Lila... I thought, walking to the kitchen, going to the drawer, opening it and pulling out the sharpest knife I could find, and held it to my torso. I pressed it forward, ignoring the urge to stop, and felt blood, and my face hit the hardwood floor.

I heard a thump and I got up, walking downstairs. Alaska began to howl. I gasped when I saw Ashton facedown, a knife to his chest. I let out a scream and ran over to him, turning him over so he was on his back. Tears ran down my cheeks as I grabbed the knife and yanked it out of his chest. I threw it across the room and grabbed my cell phone, calling 911. I followed the lady's orders and pressed my hands to his wound. "Oh so you'll save him but you couldn't save me?" I heard Ambrose say. "Why don't you just let him die? He wanted to die to be with Lila but you're going to keep that from him." "JUST SHUT UP!" I screamed. I heard sirens then the peremedics came in and began to tend to him, then they hauled him into the ambulance and I rode with him, closing my eyes as I saw more blood.

When October came downstairs, my vision was fuzzy, so I didn't realize what she was doing until I felt the pressure on my wound. I clenched my fists, whimpering with the pain of loosing Lila and the wound itself. I then blacked out, not able to stay conscious. Why didn't I stop her... I thought.
