I closed my eyes and stepped forward, resting my forhead against his shoulders lightly. I was so confused... There was a war going on in my body, and I didn't know which side to choose...Do I go with my heart, that is telling me to take him back, and just let it go? Or...Do I go with my mind? The part that is telling me that he did it once, and he could do it again. I stood there for a moment,"Bruce,"I said as I stepped back, metting his eyes with my own,"I just don't know... You can't just tell me...Proove it." I slowly let go fo his hand and turned away, finally able to leave.

I grabbed her hand one last time, and kissed her gently, in the middle of the hallway, with teachers passing by. Getting in trouble? I didn't car.e I just wanted her back. And I'd do whatever it took...whatever I needed to do."

I swear to the lord, my heart actually stopped mid-beat when his lips pressed against mine. At first, I was going to pull away, but I very slwoly closed my eyes and melted into the tender kiss. When he pulled away, or we both pulled away, I slowly opened my eyes, still in shock. I looked down and shook my head,"Not today,"I said quietly, brushing his hair from his forehead,"...Not today." Then, I turned away and left the school all together, getting in my car and going home. I was stuck, and I didn't know what to do.

I sunk to the floor, wanting to throw something, but I kept calm. Not bothering to get on the bus, or get my stuff from out of my locker for that matter, I walked outside of the school and headed home. I knew it. It had been 3 days and there was practically nothing I could do, or say, to get her to be mine again. All I could do was sit back and let time play t role.

I thought that maybe he would try flowers, or some sort of gift... But, nothing ever happened. I glanced at the posters on the walls, focusing on one: Prom. I stopped mid-step when I ran into someone and looked up... It was Bruce. We hadn't talked in about a week...

"Oh...hi..." I said, rubbing my arm  a bit. It was awkward. At this point I'd given up hope of us getting back together, or being friends...she didn't want to talk, and us bumping into each other was always a simple "hi."

"Hey,"I said quietly, looking up at him gently. I looked down between us slowly. I wasn't sure if he still wanted to be friends or not, and I was missing him...So bad. I was still sad about what happened, but my love for him was so much stronger. I didn't know what else to do, so I wrapped my arms around his back slowly and just rested my head on his chest.

I hugged her back, not sure what to do anymore. But we just stood there. For minutes. Maybe she did still want to be friends. And even if it was on a thin rope,..maybe more then that.

"Bruce?"I asked quietly, no need to be loud. Class had started, and the halls were now empty. I looked up, sighing lightly, afraid of what I was about to ask,"Do you still love me?"

I took both of her hands, looking down at her, holding back tears. "With all my heart..."
