Hearing him explain it didn't make me feel any better, but I guess he just needed to get it off his chest... Those last few words made me look down to the dirt below our feet. I ran the toes of my shoe through it and sighed,"How can I know? How do I know that one day we won't get in a fight and then fidn you hung up on some cheerleader again?"

I didn't know how to answer. There probably wasn't a way that I could convince her that I wouldn't mess up again. "Because...I don't want to lose you, Sara..I want to hold you, and get that feeling in my chest when we kiss...I want you to be mine."

I felt the tears falling down my face almost  with every word, and I looked away from him to wipe them away. I wanted him back, with every ounce of me, and I stood up, the swing creaking behind me,"Bruce... I love you so much..."

I stood, too, looking at her tears and making some of my own. I wiped hers away with my thumb, and looked at her. "I love you more than anything, Sara...and I mean it..."

"I know,"I whimpered softly, shaking my head as I we got closer and closer. I felt him lean down and press his lips against mine, our salty tears smearing between our lips. I kisssed him back, reluctantly, and then pulled away, backing up a few steps onto the sidewalk,"Bruce, I'll b-" I stopped talking, my head snapping up to see an old pickup truck screeching off the road and straight towards me. I tried to get out of the way, but I just couldn't dodge the druken driver as he hit me, and I flew who knows how far back and into the bushes. Everything was black, my head was aching horribly... I could see the dirt turning red, and then I was out.

Everything was hazy. It happened so fast. I didn't know what to do. I was shaking, trying to get my thoughts together, trying to understand and grasp what had just happened. People screamed, the cab driver hustle out of his car and fell over, and I just stood there, shocked. I wanted to scream out, but I could. I finally got it together and found her in the bushes. She was bleeding and scratched. I cried, and picked her up, and called the ambulance as fast as I could... everything else? I couldn't remember.

When I woke up again, I was in a hospital room. My head was wrapped and I whined softly into the room, listening to the beep of a heart monitor. I opened my eyes and realized my hairs was longer, my body was fuller, and everything felt... Different. The last thing I could really remember was my birthday, my fiteenth birthday.

"Amnesia." They told me, sitting on a bench, hands on my head. "How bad?" I asked, worriedly. "Not too bad. She'll remember most everything." It was good news, but then again, not. What if she didn't remember us ever happening? "Would you like to visit her?"

Mom, Dad, and the doctor all explained to me that I had been hit my drunken cabie, and that my memory of the last year and a half was gone. Fortunetly, it might come back... Maybe. I was having problems dealing with the fact that I just lost my life, or some of it at least. I smiled, endlessly, when I saw Bruce,"Hey!"

I was a little puzzled, walking in. She must have forgotten a lot. "Hey.." I said, hr parents walking out of the room to leave us together. They'd become a lot less angry at me after I called her an ambulance. "How are you feeling?"
