WHO
Sam: Who was the first member to post on chat?
Allen: We don''t know, because when we launched chat five years ago, some of the kids that were members then are now too old so they are not members any longer.
Sam: Who was the first member to post on the boards?
Allen: Same thing as in chat. We launched the boards five or so years ago so some of those kids are now 19 or 20.
Sam: Who was the first member to have a kw zone?
Allen: We launched the KW Zone in January and the first user was from the UK
Sam: Who were the first origanal member?
Allen: Once again that is not possible to answer because we launched the first version of Kidzworld on Feb 15, 2001. Those kids are now adults and are no longer members.
Sam: Did they have kw profiles?
Allen: No, they did not have KW Profiles because we did not launch The KW Zone until January, 2007
Matt: Who was the first admin on KW in all?
Allen: It was Adrian and he is still with Kidzworld. He is the editor for the Games section. So everything you see in Games is written by Adrian. He is also the person who looks after "Gary" our mascot.
Matt: Who was the first glitch on the boards and the first glitch elsewhere too maybe
Allen: Glitches are always silly little hangups in the xxxx. We have them every day. And to be totally honest with you I cannot remeber the first glitch with the boards. But I do know that it took a while to get it working properly. Some of the boards would come up, then it wouldn''t let the kids post stuff, then it would delete things without telling us. It was like it had a mind of its own!!!
Hugo : Who was the first person whatyou hired?
Allen: Her name was Melissa. She was in charge of all of the writers.
Nikki : Does CatWomen Still Work Here ?
Allen: No Catwoman does not work here right now. She is at university in Egypt. However, we do talk to her all the time. I think she will be back though.
Nikki: Can You Give Us A Schudule Of Which Mod Works On monday ,tuseday ,wed., thursday,friday,saturday,sunday ?
Allen: Spiderman works: Mon, Wed, Sat, Sunx Flying Frog works Tuesday, Cotillion works Thursday and Firebird works on Fridays.
Huge: Who owns KW. Is it just you or does other people own it 2?
Allen: I am the majority owner of Kidzworld but there are also some shareholders that own a small part of the company.
WHY
Matt Why was the KW Zone established?
Allen: We established The KW Zone to provide our users - you guys, with your own so-called social network. Sort of like a MySpace for kids. In the next month you are gonna see so many changes that I hope you like! We are working very hard to make it better every day.
Nikki Why Are Some Mod''s Meaner Than Other''s ?
Allen: I don''t think any of the mods are actually "meaner" than other mods. Perhaps it is simply that different people get along with other people in different ways.
Nikki: Why Isn''t Kw open 24 /7 or 6 you''d get more money ,more workers takeing shift''s !
Allen: The KW Zone and Kidzworld are open 24/7. You can do everything you want to do 24/7. Chat is the only thing that has restricted hours. It is open from noon to 7 PM Pacific time.
Nikki: Why Doesn''t Meghan Work More Days ?
Allen: She is a student and is busy with school. She may work more now, but everything is based on the number of classes she has, the amount of homework and her schedule.
Huge : Why was KW made?
Allen: I made Kidzworld to provide kids like you with a safe, secure and fun place to do all of the things you love to do online, without exposing you to the bad stuff.
WHAT
Hugo : What was your job when KW was started? Can you do the programing?
Allen: I have owned my own financial business for many years. No! I am not a programmer, although I really wish I was one sometimes.
Matt: Does you have the meetings with the admins/mods and know what there doing?
Allen: I see the admins and mods in the office regularly and talk to them online almost every day. Whenever they have a problem with someone they let me know.
Felipe vergara: What was the intial host of Kidzworld? Phpbb or invision power, or did you scrip your own
Allen: Who is Felipe Vergara?
Huge : What is the office like?
Allen: We just moved to our new offices on July 7th. We really like them. The main open area has brown concrete floors and the private offices have dark brown carpet. Most of the walls are a medium brown, but we have some dark blue ones as well. We do not have a typical office ceiling with those ugly white tiles - it is called "T-bar". Our ceiling is quite high and goes up to the exposed concrete which is painted. We have a safe - where we keep all of our office supplies, we have a kitchen, boardroom, meeting room with a big screen TV and we have a toy storage room. It is a lot better than our old office.
WHEN
Sam: When were the boards formed?
Allen: I think the boards were formed in 2001
Matt: When was the exact date KW was established or began?
Allen: I incorporated the company on July 29, 1999.
HOW
Hugo: How many people worked at KW then and how many works here now?
Allen: When we started there was just me. Then about sic months later I started hiring people. Now there are a total of 17 people both full time and part time. Also, we are building a Spanish language version of Kidzworld. I have nine people working there on a part time basis. They are translators and work from their homes, in the United States, Mexico and Peru
Huge: Did you have the ful time job when you started KW?
Allen: Yes, I was quite busy. When I started Kidzworld I got even busier then I sold one of my companies, which gave me some extra time.
Huge How do you get the money to pay the wages?
Allen: In the beginning the money came from me and other investors. Now it mostly comes from our advertising clients.
Huge: How does you deside what topics gets the stickies? [please ask Cam to sticky this cos its interosting] Stuff that is really popular and has lots of pages usually get stickies.
WHERE
Hugo : Where was KW started? Was it in the garage or in a building?
Allen: It was started in my office, which is located in an office building in Vancouver, BC, Canada
