Need help with balancing chemical equations?  If so, keep reading.  The reason you need to balance equations is because of the conservation of mass.  Matter cannot be created nor destroyed.  Here is an example of an unbalanced equation:

4Nb

 +

5O2

 →

Nb2O5

What is wrong with the equation?  List the elements like this:
4=Nb=2
10=O=5
As you add coefficients continue that until both sides are the same.
Here is the balanced equation:

4Nb

 +

5O2

 →

2Nb2O5

Do this for any chemical equation.
*Fixed it didn't add the two when i copied it over*

so, maybe I'm just blind, but I don't see the difference between the 'balanced' and 'unbalanced' equation.

I fixed it.  It didn't copy over the 2.
